Please refer to the small image to the following of the picture.
If the middle of the lid is very bulging and pressing it makes a particularly noticeable noise, then it may not be able to successfully seal the jar. Please replace it with a new lid.

Manual Vacuum Pump
Convenient hand-pump for sealing jars without using vacuum sealer machine, which is lightweight and easier to carry. It is travel-friendly and makes a great option for outdoor cooking to store food.
NOTE:
Q1. How to use the hand pump?
Please try to hold the hand pump firmly and press it tight when pumping. The pumping becomes difficult indicating proper use to complete the seal. If you do not feel any suction after pumping many times, check the lid or jar for a problem and maybe try a new one.
Q2. Can I connect the hoses to the hand pump?
No, please don't do this. Just put the hand pump on the jar sealer's(the plastic sealing lid) hole then pump.
Q3. What models of FoodSaver are not compatible with?
The accessory hose is not compatible with FoodSaver Model: FM2000, FM2100, FM2500, FM2900, FM4800, FM4900, FM5800, FM1100, VS0160, VS1130, VS0100, VS0150, US220.
Q4. When using the hose with a vacuum sealer what should be known?
When connecting the accessory hose to the vacuum sealer machine, please tighten the hose connector to the sealer hole and the vacuum sealer machine port. If you find that the hose connector can not be fully inserted into the sealer hole, please do not worry, this is normal.
Q5. How to remove the jar sealer(plastic sealing lid) properly? (Metal lids came off when removing sealing lid)
If the jar sealer is too tight after vacuum sealing, please gently pry the jar sealer left and right (or slightly rotate it up) to loosen it, and then pull it out. These can prevent it from driving the metal lid to open and causing the seal to fail.
